Opera web browser: Slow browsing problem in Linux

The problem is that ipv6 is automatically turned on for some reasons during the installation such as in Ubuntu 7.04. Since Opera is still not working on ipv6 but it has to use ipv6 first and then ipv4, that’s why the browsing is very slow. To solve this problem, we need to disable ipv6 by performing the following steps.
– Edit the blacklist file. As root,
>vi /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
– Add the following line at the end of the blacklist file

blacklist ipv6

– Save the file and restart.
– Check if the ipv6 is disabled
>ip a |grep inet6
There should not be ipv6 shown on the output line.

    Thanks for that.

Really annoying, it would be much easier if Opera made it configurable like Firefox.

But great, now I can once again use Opera.
