Cleaning Punctuations at the end and beginning of a word

Key: exploit the Character class.


public String cleanPunct(String word){

   if(!Character.isLetterOrDigit(word.length()-1)){

      word=word.substring(0, word.length()-1);

   }

   if(!Character.isLetterOrDigit(word.length()-1)){

      word=word.substring(1, word.length());

   }

   return word;

}
